Magical brothel?[edit]

What the heck is a "magical brothel"? The wikilinks are to the separate terms Magic (illusion) and brothel which I understand individually but not as a phrase. Google shows exactly one hit on the phrase "high-class magical brothel" and it's this article. The phrase "magical brothel" gets me little other than vaguely disturbing Harry Potter fanfic. Is this a colloquialism or other non-US usage with which I'm unfamiliar? I'd love to know the meaning or context of this phrase. - Dravecky (talk) 20:05, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's magical nature is explained if you follow the link to the reference [1] - which says ... the famous magic brothel, the White House at Soho Square, in which commercial sex was enhanced by dark, baroque special-effects and natural magic devices. I will add that particular quote to the cite to make it clearer. I had not come across either the term or the concept before I wrote the article (but then again I am hardly an expert on the sex industry, 18th century or otherwise...) and I get the impression that the White House was somewhat unique. And rather scary! Nancy talk 20:48, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the explanation! - Dravecky (talk) 05:19, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
