Colourless?[edit]

Then why is the chemical shown in the picture pink? Are they referring to the hydrated or dehydrated form of the salt? 203.97.119.134 (talk) 09:47, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The photo is of the tetrahydrate, MnSO4·4H2O.
The CRC handbook's table Physical Constants of Inorganic Compounds lists the following:
MnSO4, 7785-87-7, white orthorhombic crystals
MnSO4·H2O, 10034-96-5, red monoclinic crystals
MnSO4·4H2O, 10101-68-5, red monoclinic crystals
