Making this a disambiguation page[edit]

Is the French commune really the primary topic of Mamey in English? I don't see any results for the commune in the first few pages of Google results (which are overwhelmingly about the fruits). There are a massive number of France related incoming links, but most of them appear to due to a template; there are also a substantial number of incoming links regarding Latin American topics, which certainly intend the fruit. This article is little more than a stub, and the disambiguating hatnotes contain more text than the body of the article. I'd like move this page to Mamey, Meurthe-et-Moselle, and use the Mamey article as a disambiguation for the commune and the fruits.Plantdrew (talk) 23:27, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There is also Mamey (Guaynabo), in Puerto Rico, and redirects exist from Mameyes and Mameyes Landslide. The last two would have to be in a "See also" section to placate the deletionists, but a disambiguation page sounds good, and perhaps this one can be renamed to, perhaps Mamey (Meurthe-et-Moselle). I'm not sure how geographic page names are normally handled, though, perhaps that isn't the approved form. Richmond, for example, has pages such as Richmond, Virginia and Richmond, London. Per WP:FRCOM#Naming and WP:PLACE#Disambiguation, Mamey, Meurthe-et-Moselle is the preferred form. Good catching the Puerto Rican Mamey (with 10x the population of the French Mamey).
