Proper and correct name is Mahmut. A very common mistake in Wikipedia. Turkish names do not end with "D" unlike their Arabic versions, but with a "T". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.77.158.17 (talk) 18:48, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Additional photo[edit]

I have a photo of the execution of the conspirators in the assasination of Shevket Pasha (taken by a great-great-uncle). As I am new I don't know how to add it or whether it is appropriate - it is however, of some historical interest. Contact me if you think it should be added. I think that the article is too short to add any more photographs. If it were significantly expanded then I could see adding more photos as beneficial. --Ismail (talk) 19:51, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The german wikipedia article is far longer than this one - which was so basic it did not even mention why he was assasinated (I've just added that info). Maybe someone could translate the content from the German article and place it into this one. Tiptoethrutheminefield (talk) 12:49, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

His ancestry[edit]

I searched though many sources(Western, Turkish and Chechen) and found that the dominant claim was that he was of Chechen descent. If you disagree with this, and have more sources to back the claim up I'm open to discussion --Sextus Caedicius (talk) 19:02, 16 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
