Metric System[edit]

5-10 meters? What the hell is that?--24.177.6.38 (talk) 17:21, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. We Americans don't use the metric system and never will. Americans are also the primary users of Wikipedia so how about considering the customer? Someone put in the over all feet of the tree in good old fashioned feet. 33 feet is pretty darn tall for a "small" tree! Thank you very much but a lot of the rest of the article is still in the incomprehensible metric system.  Please fix. Thanks from Connecticut! --Mccommas (talk) 11:36, 16 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

To say that Americans don't use the metric system is rather simplistic. Have a look at the entries in the Flora of North America, e.g. for the impeccably American Magnolia sieboldii. Scientists everywhere use the metric system. However, units should be converted, e.g. using {{cvt}}, not just for Americans, but for elderly Britons, like me, who grew up with yards, feet and inches.
