Interesting translation...?[edit]

In the Disbanded cavalry maestranzas section, there are numerous glaring translation errors. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that sentences like "The Meeting of Cavalry of the Kingdom answered negatively." were simply plugged into a free translation service. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think this is the best way to word these sentences. What do you think? > Iridescence < talk )contrib ) 04:54, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree they're awkward translations, but I don't think they were machine-translated, at least not in a wholesale fashion. I just revised the translation of that section, so it's much more natural English now, though I did leave one dreaded instance of "King Phillip responded affirmatively.." - Draeco 18:58, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, thank you very much. It's much more readable now! > Iridescence < talk )contrib ) 03:59, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Format for individual Maestranzas[edit]

I think we need to decide upon a universal format for the phrase Maestranza de Caballería de xxx and its sisters. First, I think we should only link to xxx city, not the entire guild of that city, since the former would make a lot of dead links that will probably never be written. I'm glad to see that User:Gadig echoed my sentiment in this edit. Second, we need to decide wether to translate that same phrase as Maestranza de Caballería de xxx or Maestranza de Caballería of xxx. I'm somewhat inclined toward the latter just because it makes it a bit clearer for non-hispanohablantes. - Draeco 18:58, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My reason for prefering the first option is that Maestranza de Caballería is already in Spanish, so changing the de to an of is irrelevant. Any more suggestions are welcomed. Gadig 04:20, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As seen that nobody (so far) has an objection on this proposal, I will change them to read as Maestranza de Caballería de [[xxx]]. If in the future articles are writen for those topics, then we can change it back. Gadig 15:56, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I feel that using de is clear enough, however, some of the names of Maestranzas are provided in italics, others are not, some are in inverted commas, others are whole links and some just link to the city. I feel they should be standardised as links to pages for each Maestranza, with these pages having more information on each. --GoAround 19:23, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
