Wangunk village[edit]
I made a similar edit over on Cockaponset State Forest correcting the erasure of a pre-existing Wangunk village on or near the same land. Machimoodus being a Wangunk village is supported by modern scholarship as well as historic accounts, one of which I've cited.
The page for Moodus, Connecticut covers the same naming origins and goes more in-depth.
Putting this on the talk page because it's a somewhat major change and I may need feedback since I'm new at this. Babeswayscaptcha (talk) 07:28, 18 December 2023 (UTC)
