British charts?[edit]

I can find nothing to support that "Dolly Parton's Tits" was ever released as a single in Canada, yet alone was ever released outside Canada and made the charts in the UK. If no one can provide a source for this, I'll have to delete it. 23skidoo (talk) 17:19, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The official website says it was a Top 100 hit in the UK, and was used as the theme music for a British TV show. It's likely the single was issued in the UK, but not Canada, because of its use as a theme song. The single cannot be found on everyhit.com, which only covers the top 40 of British charts. --A Knight Who Says Ni (talk) 05:06, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do we know what TV show? I find it odd that a song with that sort of lyric would have been allowed on British TV in such a format (unless maybe it was a cable show). It's on Blair's website, but my link went to a specific page (not my intention), and it wasn't the right one. I've fixed it to point to the main page, and added the name of the show to the article. Unfortunately, I can't find any info about the show, not even on Google. I have no idea what kind of show it was, or whether it was from the BBC. As for the lyric being allowed on TV, there are some things (especially in comedy shows) that the Brits get away with, that nobody else can. --A Knight Who Says Ni (talk) 17:56, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's true. It just sounds odd that a song about a specific person would be chosen for such a thing. Adding to the confusion is the fact I've never heard of any of M&M's recordings being released outside of Canada. From memory it wasn't used as a sig tune strictly speaking, but was featured in one of the episodes, presumably because one of the production team had heard it somewhere and thought it was funny. This was a 'naughty' late night adult comedy show albeit on a mainstream channel, and the song fitted in well. It did indeed become a minor chart hit. I won't correct the 'theme music' description in the article as I'm relying on 30 year old memories and don't have a ref. --Ef80 (talk) 15:23, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I just noticed that parts of this page have been copied on the official MacLean & MacLean website.
