January 27[edit]

Official ad JAF1970 (talk) 22:46, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Official SITE, it also says "BUY NOW". I think the website could easily be edited if it actually came out the 27th. 150.108.232.69 (talk) 05:26, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Because you can buy it from the online store NOW. Doesn't mean you'll get it NOW. It doesn't magically appear in your living room when you pay for it online.►Chris NelsonHolla! 05:48, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
HAH! I have transporter technology, Chris, so THERE. :p PS. The GameStops in the area told me it's out tomorrow. JAF1970 (talk) 17:56, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not in stores Jan 26, in stores Jan 27[edit]

Please, stop it with the Jan 26 ship date. It was not available on Jan 26. JAF1970 (talk) 04:22, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I see nothing referenced for a "ship date", "in stores", or "available". In fact, the only question asked in the infobox is for a "release date". As of right now there is no reference for the release date listed in the article. The359 (talk) 06:01, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ad for the game Hey, buddy - go check every videogame article and tell me how many of them don't have citations next to release date. And post [citation needed] next to each and every one that doesn't. JAF1970 (talk) 21:29, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Other articles lacking citations does not mean that they should not have them. Please also read Wikipedia's WP:SOURCE, as you seem to not fully understand Wikipedia's policy regarding citations. The359 (talk) 04:41, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I could relate how I called GameStops on Monday to verify they weren't on store shelves, and then how they were the next day, but that's "original research" aka common sense. JAF1970 (talk) 06:46, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I fail to see how calling one store and asking when they will have the game on sale is "common sense", as the discussion here is over a referenced release date, and not when GameStop will have it on their shelves. You seem to fail to grasp the basic tenants of Wikipedia's referencing policy. The359 (talk) 19:48, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have full knowledge, but I can't URL an ad space that rotates ads. JAF1970 (talk) 18:28, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The question here is not when its in stores but the date it was released. No matter what you may believe, release date and in-store are (in video games) typically not the same. Many sources say the release date (including the one provided by The359) was the 26th. Per WP:VG/DATE even if you can provide a source stating anything about the 27th, the 26th date wins. You have been informed of this by not only me and The359, but also by many of the members of the Video Game Project (See Here). JeremyWJ (talk) 06:27, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reception[edit]

Anyone want to tackle the dour reception it's received? JAF1970 (talk) 01:42, 5 February 2009 (UTC) Every time someone does a couple days later it is deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.144.76.5 (talk) 15:46, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I went back and looked at the past reception and I can see why it was removed. The reception section shouldn't be a direct review of the game or personal complaints. It should be a summary of the reviews it's gotten from the media, the public, and an overview of the game's financial success (or lack thereof). If you want to highlight the criticisms or praise the game has gotten, I think the best way to do so is to quote sentences from various professional reviews. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.237.98.114 (talk) 07:32, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
