Naked Ladies[edit]

In the lead it is stated that this plant is sometimes refered to as Naked Ladies. What is omitted is that Naked Ladies (or the Naked Lady lily) are a different type of Amaryllis, namely Amaryllis belladonna.[1]

Actually there are many plants known as "naked lady", including species of Colchicum. Virtually any monocot whose flowers appear before the leaves seem to have attracted this name. Peter coxhead (talk) 07:38, 2 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hybrid origin?[edit]

The reference for the supposed hybrid origin of this species is a primarily horticultural publication, which provides no references or citations for its claim (in fact it provides no references at all). Repeating this information in the Wikipedia article is basically hearsay. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.51.174.100 (talk) 17:42, 13 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
