dates[edit]

Can more information (e.g. dates) be added for the Sweedish LEZs? I am interested in this item but there are no (Sweedish) links or dates to aid my research. Thanks, Hu Gadarn 16:07, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Citation for german Umweltzone[edit]

There is a mark citation needed in the section Germany.

Here is an article, unfortunately in german:

http://www.welt.de/wissenschaft/article11556601/Umweltzonen-sind-teuer-und-wirkungslos.html

Also very interesting: http://m.welt.de/article.do?id=motor/article3057810/Umweltzonen-kosten-Autofahrer-12-Milliarden-Euro&cid=&emvcc=-1

Germany's first automotive expert, F. Dudenhöffer, says: "Solche Schildbürgerstreiche illustrieren eindrucksvoll, wie Politiker durch miserable Arbeit Volksvermögen in beträchtlichem Umfang vernichten" (These foolish acts impressively illustrate, how politians destroy the national wealth with their lousy work.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.181.23.101 (talk) 21:46, 29 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Low-emission zone. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. ZEZ's allowing alternative fuel vehicles ?[edit]

I'm wondering whether zero emission zones still allow alternative fuel vehicles like alcohol-powered cars to enter ? It might be possible for them to enter if they are regarded as having no CO2 emissions at all (as the crops that provided the fuel are replanted and are hence eliminated). However, if they only look at the tailpipe emissions and not take the replanting into account, they would be considered to have emissions. I'm not sure how most countries calculate this.

Similarly, for low emission zones, the same question needs to be asked. Another question that arises is whether there are actually euro 4 and euro 6 alternative fuel engines (the euro 4-6 norm also requires the engine to have very low THC/NMHC/NOx/HC+NOx/PM/PN emissions, and so it's a question on whether the alternative fuel engines actually meet those norms too. If not, then it would actually disfavour alternative fuel vehicles (which wouldn't be the aim I guess).

Perhaps we need to wait a year or 2 and update the details depending on what is decided for the ZEZ of Oxford and City of London.Chidgk1 (talk) 15:43, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
