Birth and death dates[edit]

There seems to be confusion over both Ms Ellison's birth and death dates. The article (currently) matches this page, which refers to assistance from family members including her grand-daughter, and gives dates of 17 March 1931 - 31 January 1983. However, most other sites, including Allmusic, give her date of death - which one would think would be well attested - as 17 August 1985. There is also confusion over her birth - as well as the 1931 date, there is 1935 (Joel Whitburn), and 1943 (Allmusic). Can anyone help to resolve this? Wouldn't it be prudent to at least have a mention of this unclarity in the article itself? 82.136.215.96 (talk) 15:35, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
As a belated footnote, most sources now seem to agree on the 1931 and 1983 dates, as in this article. Ghmyrtle (talk) 08:45, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I dig you baby.[edit]

[1] states

best known for her [...] cover of Jerry Butler's "I Dig You Baby."

and in the same paragraph

and her first hit was the 1965 R&B hit "I Dig You Baby" (later made into a pop smash by Jerry Butler).

According to [2] and [3] the song was written by "Samuel Bell, Lorraine Ellison, Dennis Lambert". Anyone have a better source for LE covering JB's song? -- Jeandré (talk), 2009-06-28t21:38z

You're right, there do seem to be conflicting (or at least difficult to reconcile) sources on this. I don't have the record, so can't pursue it much further. If someone could sort out Ms Ellison's vital dates, at the same time, it would be good! Ghmyrtle (talk) 07:45, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh may her soul rest in peace. And I will always love her song" stay with me " Precious Connel (talk) 13:14, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
