Unsourced Yuri Bezmenov Quote[edit]

The quote

Des Moines???[edit]

The claim was made that Look was published in Des Moines, which is highly unlikely for a national magazine in the post-WWII. I have removed the statement, not because I know it's untrue (I can find no evidence of where it was published) but just because a statement that amazing needs a reference. - DavidWBrooks 21:59, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

1961 25th Anniversary? The cover on which Marilyn Monroe was on with the Georgia Tech sweater was actually the September 9,1952 issue.Monroe's last Look cover apperance before her death in 1962 was in January 1961 with Clark Gable.Anyway if you do the math Look wouldn't have it's 25th til 1962,just thought i'd point that out.

Mafia lawsuit[edit]

Did the lawsuit from Joseph Alioto contribute to Look's closing? It seems like that might be something worth adding, but I don't have good sources on it. Torc2 (talk) 03:14, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That is exactly what brought me here. I am 62 years old, born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have always been told I have a photographic memory. I distinctly recall that it was the understanding of my parents and every adult they knew that it ABSOLUTELY was the legal fallout from the publication of the article linking Joseph Alioto to the Mafia that put LOOK out of business. I recall it as being common knowledge of/in the adult world. My father was a voracious reader who almost lived at Kepler's Bookstore at Town and Country Village in Los Altos and Palo Alto both. <wgothberg at gee mail dot com> 2601:204:C700:DC90:0:0:0:C03D (talk) 00:45, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Pop culture: "A Christmas Story"[edit]

I recall a reference to Look in the movie A Christmas Story. StanHater (talk) 03:49, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Circulation peak[edit]

The paragraph about Yuri Bezmenov seems out of place and a distraction. It is about one issue only. Does that seem necessary to the article: focusing on a single issue of the magazine in thirty plus years of publication? The reference should go, in my opinion. Chagallophile (talk) 15:54, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say it's more about reactions to Look in general, not just one issue, from an interesting source. I found it a useful addition. - DavidWBrooks (talk) 18:10, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'd say the source is irrelevant and confusing, it has nothing to do with the rest of this article. Not to mention, it's unsourced -- the video referenced in the link was removed from YouTube for hate speech. It's flimsily sourced and of extremely dubious relevance. I dispute that reasonable minds would find it to be useful or relevant. -Anonymous Lurker with no dog in the fight

Gerald Ford[edit]

Posed for photos in Stowe, Vermont, for a Look feature on the town, according to this source. Seasider53 (talk) 16:48, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
