Longnor article[edit]

originating as the site of a market in the 1850s is not true - the village was there long before. If anyone has access to Domesday Book, it was probably in there. It seems to have been a rural market town in the 18th century, or at least a large village to which local villages looked for the market. (See Dyson, ref in Hollinsclough and Flash, Staffordshire articles.) I am aiming to lay out the main article in sections for easier edits. Robert of Ramsor (talk) 22:02, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Longnor in fiction[edit]

According to this article from the BBC website Longnor was the basis of Jane Austen's fictional Lambton, Derbyshire. Some claims disagree, stating that actually Lambton was based on the town where Austen was staying while she wrote P&P, but this aforementioned article claims otherwise.
