Untitled[edit]

I just created this page, went off to the store for 15 minutes and came back to find this. Yes, I copy contents from imdb, but i've gotten in the habit of posting what I find into the page then editing and creating my own article. My intent was not to infringe upon copyright.

I figured that was the case (that you were going to edit it further based on what you got from IMDB), but I wanted to make sure that if you didn't it would be removed. Please feel free to go into the history, select your last good version before the copyvio tag, and cut and paste that onto the temp subpage listed in the copyvio notice. :) --Syrthiss 17:44, 27 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

All fixed up. I'm afraid i'm a little unclear on the context for this occuring again. Can you point me in the direction of a wiki page with an explanation? Or simply explain it to me?

Not a problem. :) I'd say you can look at WP:COPY, which is the direct policy page for wikipedia (which seems to concern itself more about using material from wikipedia not putting info into wikipedia) or Wikipedia:Copyright_FAQ. Basically, taking text cut and pasted from another site is usually going to run into problems. If you do as you intended (and now have, nice work on the rewrite), which is to take material found elsewhere and rewrite it in your own words, you will be fine. Things like bare episode lists or whatever are however free game, because that kind of basic information can't really be argued to be a copyrighted text.

How I usually check for violations is to take a cut and paste of the first few sentences and do a google search on them. If I get a significant match, I take a look at both pages more closely...and I only do that in cases where I see a wikipedia article essentially spring forth completely from nothing in one edit.

Fair use rationale for Image:Longagojj.jpg[edit]

Image:Longagojj.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. I loved this series.[edit]

I particularly enjoyed the quality of the animation, whether drawn or clay, or whatever. Glad to see an article here.

I don't think James Earl Jones opened every episode. I saw quite a few on WGBH, and while he did do some, e.g. 'The Man Who Planted Trees', I am quite sure I did not see him on others.

Categories:1990s and 1980s American animated television series[edit]
