Redirect snarl-up[edit]

"Logotype" (which should be its own article) has no square brackets as WP "Logotype" redirects to "Logo".--SilasW (talk) 08:35, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Honda Logo??[edit]

Why in the world would the Honda logo be singled out here? If we're adding links to specific company logos we should have hundreds of thousands of them, or we should have none at all. Dac.Gunter (talk) 22:34, 1 October 2008 (UTC)dac.gunter[reply]

It's not Honda's logotype, rather, it is "Honda Logo, a Japanese automobile" - a particular model of Honda. If you look at the disambiguation page Element you'll see a link to Honda Element, and Fiesta includes a link to Ford Fiesta. And so on. --Bonadea (talk) 08:59, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Or Libraries/Pictures or wp:Libraries/Pictures or wp:Libraries\Pictures? (Moved from last line of accompanying Dab page, pending evidence of cluefulness.)

Structure[edit]

This applies to several kinds of restructuring i did, all aimed at aiding navigation that's more efficient than a linear search:

  1. Four articles have Africa as context, and even if our users encountered them where "Africa" per se, and anything implying a specific geographic realm, went unmentioned, place names, an ethnicity, or a language all are unlikely to be mentioned without some hint that some as yet unclear geography context is implicit. Thus users likely realize that geographic or demographic context is implicit in the "Logo" mentioned, and things pertaining one continent might be the most valuable lead for them to pursue.
  2. References to the nickname would usually respect the casing, so those here bcz of the nick may or not expect what they saw to be cased here as "The Logo", but they are reasonably like to suspect "The Logo" to fall under "Other..." since the page isn't named "The logo".
  3. I couldn't come up anything brief enuf for the task that was, uh, more pithy than "Proper names for goods", but i think i managed to specify "useful artifacts" without insinuating "trademark of a for-profit entity".

[edit]

   I found

The shortened word for a Production logo, where a short animation plays to show a logo of a company.

(where the portion i struck thru on this talk page is pretty much of a stammer: any fool can see that "logo" can be short for "production logo" when we offer the two-word link under the one-word page title).
"[A]nimation" is not a requirement, tho it's an opportunity usually too valuable to waste, nowadays; the practice of production logos in fact originated when animation was too expensive (or too unsettling for the audience), as the article hints a ways down the page.
Also not just "a logo of a company", insinuating for-profit where the article goes out of its way to talk about non-profits (and, it would seem from the state of the article as i write, also individuals who want a logo out of personal vanity rather than to identify a business or cause their logoed activity benefits -- but that's another matter).
In fact, "production" comes into the terminology bcz not just any company, but a [moving-image-work-]production company -- or its non-profit equivalent.

Can I place "Digital on-screen graphic" on this disambiguation page?[edit]

Because it represents TV station logo. Could I place them on 'See also' section? M Raisfath (talk) 05:49, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
