Logs[edit]

I'm not sure I am doing this comment correctly, but it was my understanding that fresh-cut ("green") pine and and other "soft" wood species will float (down a river), but not fresh-cut hardwoods which are denser, and need to be transported by other means. I don't recall where I read that though. --2600:6C48:7006:200:B056:6066:1296:EF0B (talk) 02:25, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Current use[edit]

The problem is that I am speaking from personal knowledge, which cannot form the basis for material in Wikipedia. I, or someone else, will have to find published sources.Bill (talk) 23:51, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
