How this log amplifier works???????? We want to generate exact natural value of input at output n what is the signal for logarithmic value when we apply a sinusoidal signal????? & what is the value of diode resistance????

Now that is a good question --75.144.72.129 (talk) 18:20, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge with Operational amplifier applications[edit]

Logarithmic_video_amplifier is NOT the appropriate page to merge with. I believe a much better fit is with Operational_amplifier_applications#Logarithmic_output. Actually, I think this page should stay and be excerpted into the section in the Op amp application page. See the talk page of Operational_amplifier_applications for my specific comments.

I agree the merge target is not appropriate and have removed the template and given the article an extensive copyedit. I have linked the article from Operational amplifier applications#Logarithmic output. It is still open to be merged there if someone wants to do it, but I agree with Marangu, that it is ok here. The applications article would become severely bloated if every op amp application was put in there. SpinningSpark 21:37, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Antilog amplifier missing[edit]

Is there a missing Antilog amplifier article? In lectures, Log amplifiers are commonly paired with Antilog amplifiers.

The Opamp Log/Antilog amplifier pairing is analogous to the Inverting integrator/differentiator pairing.

Is the subject "notable" enough that there should a complementary Antilog amplifier article, or should this article be expanded to cover the Antilog amplifier configuration?

It basically moves the log feedback element over to the input terminal. Drf5n (talk) 21:51, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

SDLA - Separate topic[edit]

There doesnt seem to be any reference in wikipedia to the SDLA (Sucessive Detection Logarithmic Amplifier). A typical example would be the AD8307. Should there be one? They take an AC signal and produce the log of the envelop. If this exists somewhere please point me to it before I duplicate info by adding it. DB DrpBr (talk) 10:20, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What's the high-performance LM714 opamp?[edit]

The text says "high performance op-amps like LM1458, LM771, LM714 are commonly used". Is the LM714 a typo for LM741? Ref? Drf5n (talk) 21:54, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
