Short plot synopsis[edit]

I have spent two days searching for plot details regarding this lost film. Dozens of 1917 English newspapers mentioned the story was familiar and enjoyable, and one stated it was set during the U.S. Civil War. A website considered to be reliable said it was about 4 daughters during the time their pastor father was away. I can't add details from the novel, for I have no way of knowing what was in the film and what was left out.
