Afghan War[edit]

Ireland wasn't involved in the Afghan war, and it isn't listed in the list of participants, so I removed that war unless someone wants to put in a citation. - 95.44.48.43 (talk) 14:19, 10 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Ireland considered deploying Army Rangers to Afghanistan in the wake of 9/11 but in the end only sent a small number of EOD advisors. I'm not sure if this really warrants inclusion though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leanseahy (talkcontribs) 20:29, 5 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Just the republic?[edit]

Just throwing this up there, but shouldn't there be a list of all wars involving Ireland as well? Like for example the Irish Confederation in the 1640s? Or Gaelic Ireland? Just having a list of wars involving the republic of Ireland cuts out a large part of Irish history. There is also a wiki for "Wars IN Ireland" yes, but that doesn't involve conflicts such as the Irish raids and invasions in Roman Wales in the 5th century, which led to St Patrick being brought to Ireland, or the Dál Ríata invasion of Pictland also in the 5th century which led to the creation of modern day Scotland.
