What about Panama's War for Independence from Colombia? I also changed the section 1930-1945 to 1930-1944 because the page should only go up to 1944 according to the title. --User: 15lsoucy

Scope[edit]

Why on earth are all these civil disturbances like the Igbo Women's War and the Battle of Blair Mountain listed here? Use of war or battle in the title doesn't mean that it should be listed here as a military conflict.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 16:31, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I would also question including each U.S. involvement in Central and Latin America as part of the "Banana Wars."Intothatdarkness (talk) 18:43, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

End of WWI[edit]

Rather than "de facto" and "de jure", I've used Armistice and Treaty alongside the dates for the end of WWI and included wikilinks. These Latin/legal terms are inaccurate. In fact, an Armistice is a legal agreement and we have the Armistice which completely ended the fighting in WWI. For legal authority, see: [Hague Convention of 1899] specifically, Laws of War: Laws and Customs of War on Land (Hague II); July 29, 1899; Chapter V. (Note in Hague II, it says "If its [the armistice] duration is not fixed, . . .." (Article 36) In a fixed duration armistice, the parties can renew fighting at the end of the fixed duration. In a non-fixed duration armistice, the parties can renew fighting at any time. But note if the parties say (in effect), "this armistice completely ends the fighting", duration of the armistice is fixed. E.g., there is no end date for the armistice and the parties may not resume fighting.) --S. Rich (talk) 15:30, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Soviet-Turkish War (1917-1918) link page deleted[edit]

And I cannot found any new page for it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.130.65.109 (talk) 03:25, 22 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in List of wars: 1900–1944[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of List of wars: 1900–1944's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "yoavalon":

  • From Ikhwan raids on Transjordan: Eilon, J.B.; Alon, Y. (2007). The Making of Jordan: Tribes, Colonialism and the Modern State. I. B. Tauris. p. 56. ISBN 9781845111380. Retrieved 2015-05-14.
  • From Adwan Rebellion: Joab B. Eilon, Yoav Alon. The making of Jordan: tribes, colonialism and the modern state. 2007: pp.54-56. [1]

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 23:14, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Table doesn't sort[edit]

I've only looked at the first (1900-1920) table, but when you sort by "Finish" (finish year of war) It appears too sort by start year and within start year by finish year. What's up? -- SGBailey (talk) 20:10, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
