Going forward[edit]

@Obi2canibe: What content do you think should stay/go in the current version? What content do you think should stay/go in the 'clean version'? The pictures from earlier version should come, I think. Updated web rankings should stay I guess. The content added with reliable sources should stay. Institutes should list immediately after universes like in the earlier version methinks. May be the best approach is to put the earliest version as stated by Obi2canibe into a sandbox, which can then be edited by all and we can incorporate any verifiable/sourced content. Once we are in agreement this edited version can replace the current copy.Dan arndt (talk) 04:39, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Chanakal: My view is, now that we have Higher education in Sri Lanka, List of universities in Sri Lanka should be just a list of institutions that awarded degrees, past and present, similar to List of colleges and universities in Michigan or List of universities in Bangladesh both of which are WP:FL.

Therefore, looking at the current version, the "History" and "Legislation for universities" sections should be removed as they are already covered in Higher education in Sri Lanka. "Rankings of universities" would also be better suited to Higher education in Sri Lanka though I'm not fussed if it stays in List of universities in Sri Lanka. Higher education in Sri Lanka needs a lot of work to bring it up to standard.

List of universities in Sri Lanka should only have three sections - "Universities" (i.e. those actually called universities), "Colleges and institutes" (i.e. other degree awarding bodies) and "Former universities".--Obi2canibe (talk) 20:02, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
