Alphabetical Listing[edit]

This is now quite an extensive list. I was wondering whether it would be worth making it alphabetical within the various sections. Whilst it may be good to keep Jean-Claude at the top of the list because of that character's importance in the series, it might make it easier to deal with the rest of the characters (and also easier for information to be understood by readers) if they were listed alphabetically. What does everyone else think? Silverthorn 11:01, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea. I say go for it. TheronJ 11:13, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jean-Claude[edit]

The information on Jean-Claude was getting sufficiently long, as was this article as a whole, for me to feel justified in moving Jean-Claude to his own article, as was done for Richard Zeeman. I have left a brief mention of him here however, both for completeness and also because a lot of links now need to be updated to the new article Silverthorn 16:29, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good work, and thanks for suggesting the moves. TheronJ 16:39, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thorough Editing[edit]

There aren't really many informational errors - mistaken names, appearances, etc., although there are still some. I'm doing a very thorough editing for spelling, punctuation, and grammar so that the text can be read more fluently and copied and pasted to other sites without making too many changes. I've started with Asher and have just completed editing his section. Lots of information is missing about Asher, by the way, and I stuck them in. Same goes to Aubrey and the rest.

Xaari, thank you for that. It may be worth noting though that, to my knowledge, it isn't necessary to sign the article once you have edited it although someone is welcome to correct me on that fact if I am wrong. Silverthorn 11:46, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Article Length and Characters to be included[edit]

Having seen a similar discussion over at the human characters page for this series, it occurs to me that we perhaps need to also think here about which characters should be included in this article and which should be represented solely at the novel page. I say this because I note that the article, despite the transfer of Jean-Claude's information to his own page, is still coming up as being too long according to Wikipedia when edits are done. At the human page it has been proposed that only recurring characters or very significant non-recurring characters (e.g. main villains) should be included in the list. That non-recurring characters for the most part should be listed only on the page for the appropriate article. Would it be wise to adopt such a policy here too? Silverthorn 11:51, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe, an idea would be to move the non-reoccuring vampire characters to a different page. If it was simply a listing of vampire names, I'd have no qualms about simply removing the novel specific characters. However, there is a lot of good information that seems a waste to just delete. Hence perhaps instead of "Branson Vampires" maybe more of "Novel Specific Vampires" section and it probably wouldn't be too much work beyond cut and paste, since most likely the only links needed to be fixed would be on the individual novel pages. In addition, a simple one sentence like Richard's section on the lycanthrope would probably work, "For non-St. Louis vampires, see {Area Specific Vampires}." I'd suggest leaving the Council members on the main page, they either seem to play a role in the background/history or a growing role. Bekkie 22:49, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
IMHO, I think we should break the undead and lycanthrope pages into groups by category. For example, we could break undead into "Undead characters of Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter (St. Louis)", "Vampire Council", and "Other". I'm open to suggestions, though, and realize that St. Louis itself may well get way too long. TheronJ 12:54, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What if we left the St Louis ones here for now and moved some of the other more easily defined sections onto separate pages? So for example, start off with a page for the Vampire Council and followers, perhaps one for non-St Louis based vampires too. Most of the books are based in St Louis, or have been to date, so it seems to make sense to use those as the default. Silverthorn 16:19, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Let's try leaving St. Louis as the default, with the thought that eventually I'd bet Asher will need his own page. That moving will clear up more space, since he's almost the last main character without his own page, vampire-wise. (Although Damian may grow into something, if given enough time, another handful of books.) I'd help in the moving, but I don't know how to, so I'll gladly help in the reroutes/redirecting. Bekkie 02:13, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've moved The Vampire Council of Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter and Branson vampires of Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter to their own pages. Silverthorn 11:20, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
All non St Louis based vampires should now have been moved to separate pages. We'll almost certainly need to check other pages for rerouting links. Silverthorn 13:42, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Asher[edit]

This section seemed long enough, and the character significant enough, to justify its own page. It can be found at Asher (Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter) Silverthorn 11:51, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request for comment on articles for individual television episodes and characters[edit]

A request for comments has been started that could affect the inclusion or exclusion of episode and character, as well as other fiction articles. Please visit the discussion at Wikipedia_talk:Notability_(fiction)#Final_adoption_as_a_guideline. Ikip (talk) 11:08, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
