* Sport in the United Kingdom - the Popularity section is incorrect and unsourced. Reliable data is required.
* Fix project template and/or "to do list" Current version causes tables of content to be hidden unless/until reader chooses "show."
Expand : Professional sports (crucial article explaining the salaried undertaking of sports)
* Sport industry (currently a sub-stub)
Photo : for pages listed in Category:Wikipedia requested images of sports and games and sub-categories.
Stubs : work on articles in Category:Sports stubs
Update : List of world sports championships

- Translate the page of sport in each country from corresponding article in other language Wikipedia to English Wikipedia which was marked in red.

Who's the authority?[edit]

Article says "Please note that those networks included must have national exposure, not regional." Who in WP has decreed that? The article is not "List of ...s on national networks".--SilasW (talk) 13:55, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Sports commentary[edit]

There were three articles where I think there should only be two. The versions I found were:

List of sports announcers, Sports commentator, and Sports commentary.

Sports commentary seems to be the one that has the least unique information, so it's the easiest to merge. I've already moved its introduction into Sports commentator, leaving just the list that duplicates the purpose of List of sports announcers. A couple of points:

arguably, the Sports commentator article should be retitled to "Sports commentary". I have no opinion, but in any case I suggest delaying any such move until the proposed merger has been completed
the formats of the two lists are different. I don't know which is better. If there is an agreement in principle to merge, the details can be sorted out afterwards. jnestorius^(talk) 18:42, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Multi-sport announcers[edit]

There was a question on the Reference Desk about why Chris Schenkel was not included on this list. I noted that Schenkel's career spanned so much time and included so many sports that it is difficult if not impossible to pin down to a single category. I then suggested that Schenkel and a number of others (Curt Gowdy, Al Michaels, Keith Jackson, et al.) who were equally versed in multiple sports should be in a separate category at the top, and save the sport-by-sport listings for those who covered just one or two.
