Royston RD in Essex[edit]

Vision of Britain isn't very clear about this, but if you look at the parish pages it becomes clear that:

it contained 3 parishes - Heydon, Great Chishill and Little Chishill
these had been in Royston RSD but in the county of Essex, so in 1894 could not be placed in Melbourn RD (Cambridgeshire) or Ashwell RD (Hertfordshire)
in 1895 the parishes were transferred to Cambridgeshire and the district merged with Melbourn RD--Keith Edkins ( Talk ) 10:18, 2 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
