I love the map of the provincial and national parks, does anyone know if the data is available to make a similar one but also crown land displayed? TastyCakes (talk) 18:21, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Other provincial lands[edit]

On older official Alberta Highway Maps, they used to display two non-park areas that were also a type of natural area. One was the Green Area which included all forested provincial crown lands, the other was the Rocky Mountain Forest Reseve, which doesn't appear any more. There are also the Grazing Reserves. Does anyone have any information on those? --Kevlar (talkcontribs) 22:30, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay I just found out "there are 32 provincial grazing reserves located throughout Alberta. They are administered by Alberta Sustainable Resource Development."[1]. Amazing what google can find. --Kevlar (talkcontribs) 22:40, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
* The Rocky Mountains Forest Reserve was created by the Forest Reserves Act of 1964
  • "Approximately 60% of land in Alberta is public land owned by the Alberta government".... "For administrative purposes, the province is divided into two broad land use areas: Green Area and White Area." SRD Alberta --Kevlar (talkcontribs) 05:19, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Should Albertas many natural areas be included in this article?[edit]

It would make it more lengthy but they should also be included in the in the article don't you think? Qwexcxewq (talk) 15:08, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

How big is the list? Would it be better to have a separate list article? Masterhatch (talk) 18:13, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Bigger than the list of provincial parks. I guess a separate article would be better but since it would still fall under "protected area" I'm not sure how that would work. But I'd be happy to create it. Qwexcxewq (talk) 03:54, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
