Untitled[edit]

As the article about the office (President of the Swiss Confederation) indicates that the current Vice-President of the confederation is likely to be the next President of the Confederation, I think it's a good idea to include this here. Which is probably why it has been added to this list quite some time ago.

The comparison with Hilary Clinton fails in several aspects:

  • The office of the President of the United States is different from that of the President of the Confederation. The Head of State of Switzerland is the Federal Council, not the President of the Confederation. The articles "President of the Swiss Confederation" and "Swiss Federal Council" provide a good introduction to those new to the matter.
  • Hilary Clinton is just one of several candidates, not the only one.
  • There is no indication that tradition holds it that here "office" makes here the only likely successor (if she is still a member of the Federal Council by December).

Are there any points I missed? -- User:Docu

Yes, that fact that despite tradition, we don't know the future and this is crystal balling, which is against policy. Therequiembellishere (talk) 04:40, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Why don't edit the main article accordingly? -- User:Docu
Alrighty then. Therequiembellishere (talk) 01:40, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, well, the way you rephrased it and the way it's on the main article don't assume anything, they only state the tradition, must better than before. Therequiembellishere (talk) 01:41, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
