Land-use

Article is structured in such a way as to account for land-use in Edison, 30 square miles and very mixed use. "Nieghborhood" is standard on Wikipedia and chosen that for consistency, rather than the commonly used in NJ "section" (as opposed to district). As is clearly stated there is no Wikipedia:Ownership of content. As is also clearly stated in Wikipedia:No original research, articles/lists require Wikipedia:Verifiability. Unfortunately long descriptions about location of one neighborhood in relationship to another are not backed up and represent the contributors original work. Besides that, they are not useful in helping a reader to determine their location, since the relationships described in prose add nothing to understanding where they are in Edison, certainly without a map. They are long-winded, space-consuming, unhelpful confusing additions using Wikipedia as a playpen. For example, where do the references (1915/1916 news articles) about Metuchen Golf and Country Club make mention of suburban developments from many years later: The club is located east of Oak Grove and Tamarak-at-Oak-Hill, south of Calvert West and Woodcroft East, west of Twin Oaks and Menlo Park, and north of Oak Hills, Clive Hills and Clive Hills East.?

English language, in general

Find it strange for editor to comment about English language when they do not know the verb comprise or distinction between historic or historical or produce work like the first two sentences of Stephenville, New Jersey article which reads (bold mine): Stephenville (also called Stephenville Ranch, Stephenville Ranch Homes or Stephenville Village) is an unincorporated community and residential neighborhood located within Edison Township in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The community is centered around Park Avenue, which borders the south and west ends of the community, Stephenville Parkway, a median strip-street which runs east–west in the center of the community, and Plainfield Road, which borders the east end of the community. One can and should note that this article is about the former. Edits regarding Potters, New Jersey on this, the Edison list confuse the two, when adding statements like: A historical African American community in the northern part of the township which no longer exists. The neighborhood was razed during an urban renewal project in the early 1970s and replaced by the James D. Elder Park and two low-income housing development projects: Greenwood Townhouses and Colonial Square Townhouses. The geographic area still exists, whether or not it referred to as Potters, so that while the population and buildings may have changed the place (the geographic area) still exists. And that's how the material in an article about places should be presented, even if describing the previous population. In English, we also make a distinction between neighborhoods and buildings or building complexes, particularly if the size is rather small. One might say that The Beacon (Jersey City), the Bronx River Houses, or Stuyvesant Town–Peter Cooper Village are indeed a neighborhoods since the complexes covers blocks and the populations are quite high. That certainly would not be the case with two very small housing developments/projects located in in Potters. They do not constitute in themselves neighborhoods and therefore do not fit the Wikipedia:LISTCRITERIA established in the scope of this list.Djflem (talk) 06:10, 8 September 2021 (UTC)

Coordinate error

The following coordinate fixes are needed for "Lindenau 40°30′54″N 74°24′40″W Lindenau is a neighborhood of the Stelton section near Edison station."

The coordinates identify the field behind Thomas Jefferson Middle School. This is in the heart of Stelton. The Development around where the Thomas Jefferson Middles School exist is called Edison Crossways and dates to early 1960's. Homes along Sutton's Lane and Central Avenue predate the Crossways development.

The Lindeneau elemenetary (40.50490364160073, -74.4080006985581) school was named for the Lineneau neighborhood.

Realtors still use the designation of the Lindeneau Terrace Development which is near the school. Here is a recent add for https://www.propertyiq.com/nj/edison/57-boltin-st/08817-piq197204290. Add for 57 Boltin St Edison, NJ 08817 (40.50306152393938, -74.40415383085232)

In a 1954 Raritan Township Map (http://www.metuchen-edisonhistsoc.org/resources/Historic+Preservation+Map+1954+ONLY+TO+BE+USED+FOR+ROUTE+27+ZONING.PDF) (Raritan name changed to Edsion in 1954 Referendum) Lindenau is identified on map as near end of Silver Lake (40.492520690870535, -74.40215826729343)

Finally, a document was produced in 2001 "Passport to Edison" (chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://www.digifind-it.com/edison/data/albums%20and%20scrapbooks/Passport%20to%20Edison.pdf) identifies, describes and maps the neighborhoods of Edison including Picataywaytown/Lindenau/

A better location for center of Lindenau might be (40.50068724658901, -74.40467668458854) which is on the edge of Lindeneau Terrace Development (I have map provided by Metuchen / Edison Historical Society) at Location of Oakland Avenue and Woodbridge Avene prior to Woodbridge Avenue Realignment and Route 1 Expansion. This would encompass historic designation of Lindeneau which straddles both Route 1 and Woodbridge Avenues.

Other historic references can be obtained.
