Welsh constituency dates[edit]

Does anyone know why the start and end dates for Welsh county seats bear no relation to the dates given in the separate articles on each constituency? Thanks. Aoeuidhtns (talk) 11:33, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This article deals with multi-member constituencies. No county in Wales (except in the first two Protectorate Parliaments and for Monmouthshire) had more than one member before 1832 or after 1918. No attempt is made, in the table, to refer to when the constituency was first created or last contested. The table just identifies when the constituency had more than one seat, not periods when it only had one seat. When that was pre-1832 the exact date is not specified. --Gary J (talk) 18:26, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
