The first table[edit]

I have repaired the URLs and the table formatting, but the data currently in the table is wrong. The Shillong article says it has a population of 314,610 at the 2011 census, for example, whereas the table has 12,012,811. -- John of Reading (talk) 17:14, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Population of Bongaigaon[edit]

User Simanta5000, the reliable source cited in the table doesn't mention Bongaigaon. Moreover, you have removed the [citation needed] tag without citing any reference, from the population of Bongaigaon. Please cite a reliable source as reference supporting the population of Bongaigaon as added by you. Else, the article may be reverted to its earlier form. So, please refer to WP:RS. AN APPEAL[edit]

According to the Govt. of Assam official website on Bongaigaon district, the urban pouplation of the district is 109782[1]. Moreover, according to the same website, in the district, there are 2 town committees and 1 municipal board (Bongaigaon). So population of Bongaigaon town/UA cannot alone be 109782. Again, the cited reference in the article, that is, a govt. website on census of india 2011, also does not mention Bongaigaon, thereby meaning that population of Bongaigaon is below 1,00,000. Hence I call upon the concerned esteemed editors of the page List of big cities in North East India to kindly look into this fact.

However, Tezpur is mentioned in the reference and its population is shown as 100,477. So, please do not remove it. Nborkakoty (talk) 17:07, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I have also noticed that and am really tired of this continuous vandalizing of the article by a single editor. Shovon (talk) 17:19, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
