St Nicholas Priory[edit]

St Nicholas Priory in Exeter is currently used as a musuem. Does that still count? Jolly Ω Janner 00:28, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've fixed this now. The priory was in this article, but just spelt differently. I've made some corrections. Jolly Ω Janner 15:04, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think that all former monastic houses should be included, for example Norton Priory in Cheshire. It might be worth asking JohnArmagh (talk · contribs) for elaboration on issues such as this as he was the one who compiled the list. Nev1 (talk) 15:25, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notings[edit]

I noticed that there was an asterix by Ivybridge Priory. What does this asterix mean? Jolly Ω Janner 00:28, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that, the key is currently at list of abbeys and priories in England. Splitting the list into county articles did not meet with unanimous support, so we are currently trying to find a compromise. We do not intend to leave individual articles with meaningless hashes; hopefully this will be addressed in the next few days. For more information see talk:list of abbeys and priories in England. Okay, I don't have much time to read that talk page for the moment. I've added back the key to the page in case any readers find themselves in the same position I was in. Jolly Ω Janner 02:48, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion about the use of abbreviations in these lists[edit]

I have started a discussion at Talk:List of abbeys and priories in England#Use of abbreviations which applies to all of the "List of monastic houses in X" (where X = counties of England) articles. The contributions of any interested editor would be welcome.— Rod talk 12:28, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
