I agree that Sweet Sensation should be added- they released 3 albums and had number 1 on the hot 100 and 1 number 1 on the dance charts — Preceding unsigned comment added by Karlo1975 (talk • contribs) 01:42, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Eggishorn(talk)(contrib) 21:24, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Why do we still use the biased expression "girl" groups?[edit]
Hi, I don't think that the word "girl" is an appropriate way to refer to women singing in musical groups. - If other editors agree or don't come up with a neutral description, I would rename this article in about two weeks as 'List of women singing in musical groups'. - Of ourse, that would still leave us with renaming the Catergory:Girl groups, but maybe this can be done with the help of a bot? Munfarid1 (talk) 06:52, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Munfarid1: Please read WP:COMMONNAME. If you want the article title to be changed, you’ll have to demonstrate that reliable sources more commonly use the term “women singing in musical groups” to refer to these sort of acts over “girl group”. For the record, I object to your proposed title change as no reliable sources have been provided. For such a controversial name change, please follow the WP:RM#CM process. First, thanks @Bennv123: for your information on the necessary WP:RM#CM process. WP:COMMONNAME does not, to my understanding, give enough guidance for a unanimously acceptable common name, as this has changed in recent time. - As I don't have the time to request a single page move, I will leave this task for somebody else. Maybe somebody from the WikiProject Wiki Loves Women will be able to do this? Munfarid1 (talk) 09:23, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Gerda Arendt:, maybe you know someone, who shares my view on this, and who knows how to request a single page move without starting a tiresome discussion with Wikipedians, who might oppose this change of, in my opinion, sexist expression. (I can't imagine, for example, to call The Supremes a "girl group", but they are named in this list.)
On the page of Writing about women of the WikiProject Wiki Loves Women, I found this statement, which seems, however, not to be a hard and fast wp guideline: "Do not refer to adult women as girls or ladies,..." - Thanks for your well-informed advice, as always! Munfarid1 (talk) 18:19, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
While I share you view, and just created Women's choir which includes young women = girls, I have a miserable record in requested moves. Please see Talk:The Flying Dutchman (opera). Perhaps you can win Aza who fairs much better. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:32, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Gerda, I'll try to find somebody, and good luck with Der fliegende Holländer! Munfarid1 (talk) 19:41, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

While they had an incredibly strong female lead, The Ad Libs were no more a "girl group" than The Pips. All the instrumentation and backing vocals are provided by men. 96.233.55.47 (talk) 17:23, 27 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please add chill and fan two Irish girl groups thanks 149.50.166.100 (talk) 16:15, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know know what is "Fun", but Chill doesn't have a Wikipedia article. (This list only lists existing articles, red links aren't allowed.) --Moscow Connection (talk) 06:51, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, "Fan". Still no idea. Maybe "Fab!", menioned here: [1]? No article as well. --Moscow Connection (talk) 06:55, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is not much to be found about Chill: [2], [3]. No chart appearances, nothing. --Moscow Connection (talk) 07:17, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And something was here → [4]. Except from Google search: Ireland: Just another panto dame? Oh no she's not Nov 28, 2004 — Ireland: Just another panto dame? Oh no she's not. Louise Loughman is looking on the bright side of her new role in pantomime, says Mick Heaney. ... Irish girl group Chill. Overcoming that, Loughman says, made her the person she is today: optimistic, confident and determined. It was not ... And maybe there's something here: [5], [6]. I thought, why not create an article? But I'll pass. --Moscow Connection (talk) 07:17, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Acc. to "Liz Bonnin", Chill broke up before recording. That's why there is nothing on Discogs. --Moscow Connection (talk) 07:25, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
