TV[edit]

If you're going to include TV episodes here then you should probably include the classic "Doctor Who" story "Planet of the Giants", the animated Star Trek episode "The Terratin Incident" and a one-off thing from 1985 called "The Galactic Garden". I think there was an episode of "Captain Zep - Space Detective" that featured shrinking, as well.

Oh, and "The Box of Delights", naturally.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.14.30.227 (talk) 07:57, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The "See also" section had too many TV episodes linked, more than such a section needs. There should be a separate article for TV. The diff listing the episodes can be found here. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 02:44, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Why[edit]

Why does this article even exist? For shrinking fetishists, I assume. Boones (talkcontribs)

Probably. However, the prose mentions several aspects that could be interesting to a general audience -- mythological themes, special effects, and what genres choose to use it -- if only the article was a full-formatted one rather than just a list. Definition of miniature people[edit]

Is this list about normal sized people who are shrunk by extraordinary circumstances, or is it about people (or races) that are a little short? I don't think Hobbits from the Lord of the Rings belong on this list...

I agree about Hobbits, this list shouldn't include fictional characters that are the size of any real people.--Pharos (talk) 18:39, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
There are two reliable sources that support this listing. Editors cannot cite themselves as reliable sources to contest such listings. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 18:44, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Lord of the Rings is covered at 05:18 in the Wired video. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 18:49, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
After some consideration, the sources are more about the miniaturization techniques, which isn't exactly the same as this article's scope. I have moved the listing to the "See also" section and mentioned how it "used similar techniques". Does that work? Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 19:29, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
