Gavin Williamson[edit]

I am not sure that Gavin Williamson should be listed here. Normally even when a minister is sacked the Prime Minister asks them to resign or in other cases they are asked to move to a different job and they refuse and resign. However the letters released (as shown on Twitter and reported in several online articles would seem to suggest that what happened on this occasion was that Theresa May gave Williamson the chance to resign, but he declined and this led to him being formally dismissed from his potion. I would note that the BBC News website's article on the sack has the headline "Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson sacked over Huawei leak", and in the same article Laura Kuenssberg states "Downing Street has made a very serious accusation and is sure enough to carry out this sacking" which again suggests that this should not be viewed as a resignation.[1]

Agreed. Either he should not be listed here or, if he is, we need a new title and lead paragraph to properly encompass his sacking. DBaK (talk) 11:48, 2 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think you are correct and that the distinction between a sacking a resignation should be noted. A part of me still feels its relevant to note his sacking here however because it forms a larger picture of departures from the Government. As suggested could we change the title and lead paragraph to encompass this?
I would have no problem with that - it sounds a sensible way to go, as I suspect people reading the article would be looking for some mention of this.Dunarc (talk) 22:38, 2 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Would a title such as 'List of Departures from the Second May Ministry' be appropriate you think? Then we could keep the page the same but just note Williamson's unique situation with his sacking.

Damian Green[edit]

Should Damian Green be listed in Green as having breached the Ministerial code? It says so on his own page in the summary.
