Programs?[edit]

Should we have on a list general linguistics departments only or also those of various subdisciplines such as computational, applied, indo-european? --Greg-si 20:02, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think so; a link to the department should be enough, at least for now (however, see my 'degrees offered' comment below). This is especially true of graudate-level studies, where such offerings are highly dependant on the faculty, and may not be policy of a department. Austin, TX[edit]

There is a department of linguistics at the University of Texas in Austin. http://www.utexas.edu/cola/depts/linguistics/ I'm not personally familiar enough with editing protocol and proceedure to add it myself, sorry. 207.193.46.130 15:07, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Canada[edit]

I just added some Canadian universities, including mine. However, Carleton University offers two graduate degrees in linguistics, one from the School of Linguistics and Applied Language Studies (i.e., the department of linguistics) and the Department of French. Since the latter is from a department, I elected to leave it as a bullet under Carleton, rather than at the bottom in 'Programs' since it is a department proper, as is SLALS. Degrees offered[edit]

I think it would be beneficial to add the degrees offered by the various institutions listed; I'm certain that's of interest to anyone reading this document! I have taken the initiative and done so for the Canadian universities I listed. I also don't think it's necessary to provide international equivalents, as links to the articles themselves (as I've done) will disambiguate where the potential exists. More links[edit]

It would be great if we could gather up links for the listed departments that lack them. Msanford (talk) 05:24, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
