Cleanup[edit]

This list estsblishes no criteria for inclusion and seems quite indiscriminate. Some entries appear to be listed because they have franchises or outlets in the area, though this doesn't seem to mean "significant operations" in any real sense. The list is completely unreferenced, as well; there's only the link to the Fortune website for the positions of the companies -- some can be verified therein has having headquarters in Phoenix, but others are not described as having any kind of presence by that list (or, to the contrary, established as being headquartered elsewhere.)

How can this list be cleaned up? Is the easiest solution deletion? -- Mikeblas (talk) 02:45, 22 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I concur that deletion may be necessary. No one has the time or energy to spend two hours cross-referencing this train wreck and eliminating all the corporations that are actually not headquartered in Phoenix, which is why no one has done so for over two and a half years. This article is pathetic. As any college-educated adult with any employment experience knows, most Fortune 500 corporations have branch offices or operations in nearly every major city in America. That is why the vast majority of Wikipedia articles on cities and metro areas list only corporations headquartered in the area. --Coolcaesar (talk) 03:45, 8 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
