Ways to improve List of converts to the Catholic Church from Islam[edit]

Hi, I'm Boleyn. Chicbyaccident, thanks for creating List of converts to the Catholic Church from Islam!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please add your sources. All articles need sources, and the WP:BURDEN is on the creator to add them. However, considering the strength of feeling around conversion from Islam/apostaty, we need to be careful.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Note: Above content moved to proper place from my talk page. Chicbyaccident (talk) 19:50, 3 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I do share your concern. That is partly why I brought the contents in a list of some of the ones categorised as such, with seemingly OK sources in their biographical articles. Feel free to contribute! Chicbyaccident (talk) 19:53, 3 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Article renamed[edit]

Undiscussed rename by Place Clichy with the motivation: "One converts to a faith, not the Church". Would the user be willing to explain that a bit further, please? PPEMES (talk) 17:07, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sure: when people become Catholic, they convert to Catholicism (see List of converts to Catholicism), as when they become Anglican, they convert to Anglicanism. This has been the topic, among others, of a much discussed CfD, in which you participated, and despite being for the category and not the eponymous articles, everything said there applies here. With all due respect, I do recognise the many valuable inputs that you bring to the encyclopaedia, but in this particular case I friendly invite you to reconsider your WP:IDIDNTHEARTHAT attitude. Place Clichy (talk) 16:44, 26 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I notice your arguments. I'm just inquiring whether the conclusions are appropriate, or if so how they apply here and under what consistency (so actually you can get that ball back). If your conclusions would be correct, how come Catholicism redirects to Catholic Church? PPEMES (talk) 19:59, 26 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It's perfectly OK to have Catholicism redirect to Catholic Church, because for reasons local to this article it is better to treat the connected topics in a single article rather than splitting content. However, this does not create a policy regarding the use, or lack thereof, of the word Catholicism everywhere on Wikipedia. Nobody denies that the topics are intricately related, but the terms are not synonymous. Do you suggest instead that we should not have a redirect from Catholicism to Catholic Church? (not my opinion, just a question) Place Clichy (talk) 17:52, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I just think the rename could have been duscussed rather than just moved. I for one obviously fail to see the merit of your arguments. PPEMES (talk) 07:32, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
