AGX Dynamics[edit]

I would like to propose AGX Dynamics, a multipurpose realtime oriented physics simulation engine. It has been developed over 11 years, is backed up by some 50 scientific research papers, and has tens of thousands of daily users, in engineering software and in realtime simulator systems. I agree with others on this talk page that this list isn't particularly useful, but as it now exists it should be inclusive rather than exclusive regarding software that clearly reaches the notability criteria. https://www.algoryx.se/products/agx-dynamics/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AGX_Multiphysics — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.195.220.213 (talk) 14:15, 28 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hydroelectric Simulation[edit]

Hi, I would like to suggest a link for an hydroelectric freeware simulation tool: HydroExpert. Available in http://www.hydroexpert.com.br/products.php.

ExtendSim[edit]

I am adding ExtendSim to the list. However, I'm not sure how useful this list is. Perhaps a two-tiered structure would be better. The top tier would be a list of types of simulation software (discrete event, continuous, electronics, robotics, FEA, etc...) with links to sublists containing the individual software programs. This seems much more useful to someone actually looking for information on a specific type of simulation software. Any thoughts? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Djkrahl (talkcontribs) 17:24, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that a tiered or categorical list would be helpful, especially if the list were a table with a color-coded list of capabilities such as Comparison of Screencasting software.

GEKKO[edit]

GEKKO is a Python package for simulation of dynamic systems with integrated machine learning and optimization. There are examples across many areas of science and engineering such as an inverted pendulum. SymPy and SageMath are two other Python packages listed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.117.203.60 (talk) 14:10, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Vflo[edit]

I would like to add Vflo to this list. Vflo is physics-based distributed hydrologic modeling software that simulates continuous and short-term surface water runoff. Thanks for your consideration. Ar2285 (talk) 16:36, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

External links[edit]

There's a tremendous amount of external links and redlinks in this list; unless sources can be provided I'm not sure this meets WP:V. Please re-add them when an article has been created, or there's a reliable source we can use. Kuru talk 19:29, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There should be a dispute, here. How come our open source link to Tortuga has been removed? I saw various references to "link farms" and "self-promotion links" - so what? Is not the name of the page "List of computer simulation software" ?? Aren't there supposed to be links to computer simulation software? What do you mean, "reliable source" ? Our project, the Tortuga DES, had a link to the homepage, examples, documentation, and source code. I think that qualifies - do you want me to get Microsoft to endorse it before you'll treat it as "valid" ?

Why would you remove every link that doesn't have their own wikipedia page? That hardly makes sense. Our homepage with all of the descriptive info lives permanently at another URL, and I am sure that is true for others. Besides, the last time I added a page about a piece of software, TUFDefender, it was removed by an administrator as "patent nonsense" and "self-promotional."

You really need to decide what you want out of a page called "List of...." - DUH, how about a list?!

See WP:EL, WP:SPAM, WP:NOTLINK, and WP:LIST to start. --Ronz (talk) 18:02, 21 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

EICASLAB[edit]

Dear Sirs, I would like to add a reference to the EICASLAB article in the section related to commercial computer simulation software. EICASLAB is a suite of tools devoted to the design of control system architectures, including specific features for plant and control simulation. I specify that I have seen that the EICASLAB article has been marked as orphaned so I am working for helping in de-orphaning it. Let me know if I can add such a reference. Thank you so much for your help. Caporaletti (talk) 13:31, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

FEA[edit]

I think Code_Aster should be included in the open source section and ABAQUS in the other section 130.88.117.216 (talk) 13:59, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Plant Simulation[edit]

Added Tecnomatix Plant Simulation software, a product of the Siemens Product Lifecycle Management division. Standard commercial discrete event simulator. Leading tool in Europe in the automotive industry. Enables the simulation and optimization of production systems and processes. Plant Simulation article has to be added. 213.70.98.66 (talk) 17:19, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OpenPowerNet[edit]

I would like to add OpenPowerNet as a simulation software for electrical railway power supply systems. Unfortunately I have only an "exernal" linke. http://www.openpowernet.de. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.116.21.90 (talk) 11:01, 3 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PottersWheel[edit]

Dear all, I would like to link PottersWheel, a software to calibrate parameters of chemical reaction networks or differential equation based models. The software is free for educational and academic usage, but not open source. Maybe a section "Free software" should be included? WikiUser853 (talk) 15:21, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

MLDesigner[edit]

Hello all! I'm doing a tool comparison for informational purpose based on this (far outdated) site: http://www.idsia.ch/~andrea/sim/simtools.html. The first tool i would like to add is MLDesigner. It has great capabilities in multi-domain simulation and environmental/mission modeling. This tool is an commercial fork of the Open Source Ptolemy project (UC Berkeley). I'm going to suggest some more tools this days. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Datalizer42 (talkcontribs) 00:00, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Project Team Builder[edit]

I'm adding Project Team Builder to the list. It is a project management simulator. I agree with Djkrahl. I think we should work on further classifying the list into sub sections to make it more useful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Guy.other (talkcontribs) 11:00, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rand Model Designer[edit]

Good morning, I'de like to note Rand Model Designer http://www.randservice.com/ , which is a high-performance visual environment for the modeling and simulation of multi-domain component models of complex dynamical systems. I certain cases it seems to be a kind of low cost alternative to Simulink. The package is being developed since 1998 and also known as Model Vision Studium (Academical package). We are using this package in Transas quite successfully to develop mathematical models of liquid cargo handling operations (for example simulator of a Product Carrier). Signavio[edit]

I would like to suggest Signavio, a BPMN tool with extensive simulation capabilities for process models. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.223.202.43 (talk) 17:49, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

MLAB Mathematical and Statistical Modeling System (www.civilized.com)[edit]

Dear Author(s) - Please take a look at www.civilized.com about MLAB. MLAB is a modeling system originally developed at the NIH that solves systems of ODEs, and fits models, including ODE models, to data in order to estimate parameters. There are hundreds of citations listed there. MLAB should be added to your list, and if you can establish a Wikipedia page for it, that would be appropriate as well.

(There are many examples of MLAB at www.civilized.com dealing with varieties of models, including chemical kinetics, compartmental models, the Hodgkin-Huxley model, the Bloch equations for spin-echo, laser modeles, etc.)

STELLA by ISEE Systems[edit]

www.iseesystems.com Stella and iTHink by ISEE Systems should be part of the Private list. It is a simulation system that provides a sophisticated visual programming interface. SMH — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.166.52.19 (talk) 20:05, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sim#[edit]

SimPy is on the list so Sim# should be mentioned as well.

Sim# is a .NET port of SimPy written in C#. link — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.191.22.41 (talk) 21:48, 5 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

SimScale[edit]

SimScale should be in the list of simulation software. Is is a web-based simulation platform integrated with OpenFOAM, CalculiX and Code Aster. Has a free account available for everyone, with access to all the features, but since it's for commercial purpose I would add it to the second section.

May I add the following?

Please let me know if you're OK with it or you would need me to edit it. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Andreea Zaha (talkcontribs) 12:12, 14 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ModelCenter[edit]

ModelCenter from Phoenix Integration should also be included on this list. ModelCenter is a popular framework for modeling and simulation workflow integration, automation, and multidisciplinary design analysis and optimization.

JaamSim[edit]

Need to add JaamSim - a free and open source discrete-event simulation software which includes a drag-and-drop user interface, interactive 3D graphics, input and output processing, and model development tools and editors. http://jaamsim.com/ Active from 2002 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.65.128.242 (talk) 16:58, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm adding JaamSim to the list, it has been active for a long time, and it is reported independently at <Dagkakis, Heavey (2015), Journal of Simulation, pp.1-14>. I've used it quite extensively. Eteruel (talk) 12:42, 9 November 2017 (UTC) eteruel[reply]

No. The correct way to add it is to create a Wikipedia article for it. If it is wikipedia-worthy you can add it to the list, otherwise it shouldn't be there. Rhodin (talk) 22:31, 9 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

SRM Engine Suite[edit]

I would like to add the SRM Engine Suite as a proprietary software toolkit from CMCL Innovations. Please let me know if there's any issues with this or the linked article needs editing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CaptainHillman (talkcontribs) 10:05, 17 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Should Mathcad be on the list? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 147.81.210.11 (talk) 21:33, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Simcenter STAR-CCM+[edit]

I would like to suggest adding Simcenter STAR-CCM+ - A engineering simulation tool for fluid flow, heat transfer, chemical reactions, solid stress, particulate flow, electomagnetics and related phenomena — Preceding unsigned comment added by DrMesh (talkcontribs) 21:10, 6 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It is both powerful and user-friendly. 91.205.147.67 (talk) 10:09, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

GPSS[edit]

Very strange that there is no GPSS (General purpose simulation system) in that list. It has more then 50 years experience. There is also some modern visual tools for it, like GPSS Studio. 91.205.147.67 (talk) 10:14, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Mathcad[edit]

Mathcad Express is missing on the "Free or Open Source" list. It is available from [2]https://www.mathcad.com/en/try-and-buy/mathcad-express-free-download. The first 30 days the uses uses Mathcad Prime which is changed after the test period to Mathcad Express. PTC Mathcad Prime is missing on the "Proprietary" software list. It is available here [3]https://www.mathcad.com/en/ Cliff mclaine (talk) 09:46, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sim4Life[edit]

I would like to add Sim4Life to the list of proprietary software with this text:

Sim4Life - a simulation platform, marketed by ZMT Zurich MedTech AG in Switzerland, that combines Virtual Population computable human phantoms with physics solvers and tissue models for simulations of biological processes and medical technical devices.

Should I create a new wikipedia article (or at least a stub) about Sim4Life for a wiki link? PLBounds (talk) 13:48, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

S4Llite[edit]

Similar to the previous request, I would like to add S4Llite to the list of free software with this text:

S4Llite - a cloud-based version of the Sim4Life simulation platform, free-of-charge for students for online self-directed study and simulation research.

And the same question about creating a new wikipedia article (or at least a stub) about S4Llite for a wiki link? PLBounds (talk) 13:54, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

SEMCAD[edit]

Similar to the previous 2 requests, I would like to add SEMCAD X Matterhorn to the list of proprietary software with this text:

SEMCAD X Matterhorn - a full-wave 3D electromagnetic (EM) simulation software platform for electrical engineering simulations marketed by Schmid and Partner Engineering AG in Zurich Switzerland.

And the same question about creating a new wikipedia article (or at least a stub) about SEMCAD for a wiki link? PLBounds (talk) 13:59, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This is a list of software with preexisting Wikipedia articles, so yes, a Wikipedia article would be required. Since you have a paid association with these companies, you should use WP:AFC for that, as well as listing the affected articles on your userpage as required by WP:PAID. MrOllie (talk) 14:11, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

o2S2PARC[edit]

Similar to the previous 3 requests, I would like to add o2S2PARC to the list of open-source software with this text:

o2S2PARC - an interactive online platform to simulate peripheral nerve system neuromodulation/stimulation and its impact on organ physiology.

And the same question about creating a new wikipedia article (or at least a stub) about o2S2PARC for a wiki link? PLBounds (talk) 14:03, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop pasting in these comments over and over. Thanks. MrOllie (talk) 14:12, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please actually reply to the requests PLBounds (talk) 13:19, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The answer is the same for all of them: This is a list of software with preexisting Wikipedia articles MrOllie (talk) 13:32, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have drafted articles for SEMCAD X Matterhorn and Sim4Life, with a description of S4Llite embedded with the latter, and the drafts have been submitted. These 3 are added to the software list, but I must wait for the drafts to be accepted before hitting publish, right? PLBounds (talk) 13:58, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I didn't see your comment above. Thanks for the tip, am producing stubs, will add these to my user page. PLBounds (talk) 13:36, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
