Too long[edit]

This article is far too long. I propose to subdivide it ~~alphabetically,~~. I carried out a similar exercise a while ago, on List of United Kingdom locations - see discussion at Talk:List of United Kingdom locations#Lists too long. At the same time, I plan to convert the coordinates templates to {{coord}}, which emits a Geo microformat, permitting the use of {{kml}} so that the coordinates can be mapped, transferred to GPS devices, or such like.
