Rationale[edit]

In 2008, AndreasJS (talk · contribs) created Category:Children kept in captivity. There was consensus to delete this at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2015_November_7#Category:Children_kept_in_captivity, but IMHO John Pack Lambert was right to suggest a list of notable cases, so I built this list.

It would probably worth making it into a table, listing names of both victims and perpetrators (where these have been made public). The current article titles are a mixture of victims, perpetrators and locations. – Fayenatic London 21:55, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sisters Christine Wagner and Erika Wagner, Austria, 41 years[edit]

I deleted that. Reason: It were false accusations according to the media (https://kurier.at/chronik/oberoesterreich/falscher-inzest-vater-tot-aufgefunden/790.687). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.188.1.60 (talk) 14:11, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Marc Dutroux[edit]

Perhaps add Marc Dutroux to the list. 85.24.247.24 (talk) 17:03, 8 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"Linz sisters"[edit]

First, the article itself is extremely badly sourced, and from the sources the claims made seem highly dubious, secondly Linz is a city and not their last name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.217.46.143 (talk) 18:41, 19 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Category clarification needed[edit]

The current categories are for cases of children imprisoned by relatives, cases of abduction, and sex slavery of minors. Unfortunately, those categories often aren't distinct. At least six of those listed as cases of abduction were sexually abused by their abductors, as were at least five of those listed as being imprisoned by relatives. It might be better to change the categories to "cases of children imprisoned by relatives" and "cases of children abducted by unrelated people" or similar. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Subluxate (talkcontribs) 22:13, 15 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone add 2016 Domingo Bulacio case?[edit]

I found this case that should be added? https://metro.co.uk/2017/12/29/man-kept-daughter-sex-slave-22-years-fathering-eight-children-7189949/

I can't do it because my account is very new,so I would appreacitate if someone could add this. Thanks a bunch :) ! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Janjanis (talkcontribs) 18:58, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Does the Ruinerwolde case/ Drenthe Hermits belong here?[edit]

This case was unusual for a civil law country like the Netherlands, because the entire existance of 6 children was illegally hidden, including lack of schooling. While some of the younger children insist they staid voluntary, all admit sexual abuse and beatings happened, some of it on film. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drenthe_hermits
