Names of constituencies of sitting chief ministers[edit]

The details regarding the name of constituencies of the sitting CMs have been updated by me thoroughly checked through the election commission website. [1] Anyone is open to cross check the reference provided before reverting the duly researched and authentic data and it would be appreciated if the same is discussed here before any reverts. It has been pointed out that constituencies have not been mentioned for many CMs for which it needs to be stated that the first assembly election for the state of Karnataka as per the election commission website took place in 1957 hence it is not possible to provide the details before that. Moreover some of the CMs were elected through the Legislative Council for which the data is not provided by the election commission and hence cannot be referred to.Amal biyani (talk) 18:34, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting article improvements consistently[edit]

Hi user:Indopug, I see that you have reverted the changes done by a user (117.213.168.100) at Original Improvements ID_994147362 dated 08:46, 14 December 2020‎ without providing any reasons therein. Also you have removed 2 columns Portrait and Constituency that are provided in that change. Moreover, the article has been a featured list in May 2014 and in the main page since May 2019 and since then (over 1.5years) there were many changes that have occurred. Recently, my changes ID_996069379 dated 10:22, 24 December 2020‎ on top of the above changes, which include the corrections of the Portraits and Constituency have also been reverted citing WP:BRD and WP:FAOWN. I have corrected the mentioned flaws in my change here ID_996213388 dated 05:21, 25 December 2020 and as per the WP:BRD, the article with contributions of improvements should not be reverted without discussion. I really appreciate that you have done much of the work on the article, but that doesn't mean you own or possess the article and keep on reverting changes made by other editors without any discussion. As an experienced editor, it is appreciated if you highlight any flaws in the article and help in the improvement in the topics of the article, by other editors, instead of reverting the complete changes and contributing on your own. Thaejas, I will reply with detailed comments to your changes later today, but for now I will say that I disagree that your changes entirely improved the article. Further I disagree that I didn't explain my reasons for reverting (see this); this is a featured list since 2014, and even appeared on the front page. If you want to make large-scale changes to an article considered one of the encyclopedia's best, you should make the case for them first. Not the other way around.—indopug (talk) 05:25, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
user:indopug, I wasn't referring to the changes that I did later. Please re-read the my comments and before doing any further reverts, first lets come to a consensus. I see you have reverted again even when I say not to revert my changes without proper discussions. As such, I am reverting again and strongly suggest you to refrain reverting without reaching a consensus.Thaejas (talk) 07:29, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It's becoming difficult to assume good faith with you, with your repeated and sudden edit-warring in a six-year-old featured list. I'm fine with adding the images to the table in principle (I would like to choose better images though). I think splitting the tenure column into 3 looks ugly and is unnecessary. Separating the constituency into a separate column is similarly unnecessary; especially since it is completely unreferenced.
The addition of Mysuru to the first 3 CMs is completely unacceptable: it is unsourced; it links to the city, not a constituency; and even the city was known as "Mysore". In fact this addition makes me concerned that you aren't even aware of the topic at hand, and are simply force-fitting multiple articles into your preferred but arbitrary style.
All the same, to show my good faith, I will be willing to offer a compromise for now: insert the images into the table, but do not change the rest of the table from !my version, as whether they are improvements at all is clearly at debate.—indopug (talk) 10:12, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
user:indopug, I am disappointed that you have avoided answering on the reasons about your reverting of the changes done by user (117.213.168.100) at Original Improvements ID_994147362 dated 08:46, 14 December 2020‎ and started accusing and blaming me instead in a very inappropriate manner. I have been politely asking you to provide your reasons with the assumuption of good faith from you. But you chose to avoid responding. Please note that the article is not your personal property to be possessive about and there will be lot of changes in future by other editors. All editors, including me, are absolutely aware of the standards of wikipedia. Note that such inappropriate reverts by an editor is against the WP:BRD and such reverts without reasons will lead other editors to avoid improving the Wikipedia.
Regarding your queries, as an editor, it is expected to highlight any flaws to editors instead of reverting the complete changes. You can refer to the other similar list articles (for example: List of chief ministers of Tamil Nadu), which is also a Featured article. The tenure column in 3 fields is much clear and distinguishes the dates and constituencies for each of the elected members. Your changes don't show this clarity (for example: Ramakrishna Hegde wherein you have clubbed 2 constituencies without clearing showing the constituency tenure (start date and end date). Also, the photos, in your changes, are overflowing the full length of the article. Regarding Mysuru, I am surprised that you are unaware that Mysore is officially known Mysuru and hence the name. As such, I consider the original changes, by user (117.213.168.100), that you have reverted are the proper changes on which you would need to apply any further changes. In case you don't agree, you can get other Wikipedians to support your authority on the article. Thaejas (talk) 01:20, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
