Comment[edit]

It would be nice to add some photos to this article of the dishes. I think the bacon photo can be dropped... ChildofMidnight (talk) 20:59, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I added the origin section, an image section a la list of cakes might work well here.--kelapstick (talk) 23:50, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
While it arguably looks better, do you think the difficulty formatting lists for novices could discourage "drive-by" expansion? Bongomatic 23:57, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps, although once I am finished I will separate it so that it is easier to add something by seeing how it is formatted. --kelapstick (talk) 17:49, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bacon Salt/Baconaisse[edit]

I've removed these two products from the listing as both only contain bacon 'flavouring' (not real bacon) and are actually certified Kosher! http://www.jdfoods.net/images/shop/nutrition-original.gif Obscurasky (talk) 13:51, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of sourced info[edit]

[1] = Obscurasky (talk · contribs) removed a good deal of sourced info, replacing it with completely unsourced info. The edits by Wackywace (talk · contribs) were helpful, positive, and improvements to the page. Please do not do this again. Thank you, -- Cirt (talk) 21:53, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sources/citations were not the reason I reverted Wackywace (talk · contribs)'s edits. The information he added is just way too detailed. This page is a list of bacon dishes and only a brief description is necessary. A link to each dish is included in the table if readers require more detailed information.
The article, as it stands, lacks continuity; not only with regard to the balance of information, but also because you've altered the size of the photos relating to your edits, making all the others too small for their boxes. This needs addressing. Obscurasky (talk) 00:39, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please note that I will be expanding the sections in an attempt to bring it to FL status, and, Obscurasky, what I added was not too much information. Have a look at List of National Parks of the United States, for example, a featured list, to see what I mean. If you do not wish for me to mess up the page while I expand it, I am happy to work on it in my sandbox, where I continued working on it after you reverted my edits. Regards, Wackywace converse | contribs 06:17, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The new information is still excessive, far exceeding that even in the selected example you provide; but if you're going to bring all the sections up to the same standard, I think this be will be an improvement to the page nonetheless. I will not revert your edits while you do so. Obscurasky (talk) 06:58, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Obscurasky (talk · contribs) has failed to provide a cogent rationale for the removal of sourced info, and the replacement of it with completely unsourced info. -- Cirt (talk) 21:32, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
?? Read my first comment; I didn't 'replace' anything, I only reverted Wackywace's edit - and in any case, that was not nothing to do with 'sourcing', it was because of excesive detail.

Check your revert again. In the process of reverting, you did indeed remove lots of sourced info, and replaced it with a completely unsourced page. -- Cirt (talk) 11:47, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I reverted back to Headbomb 9 September 2010 - which was the last page before the introduction of, what I considered to be, excessive detail. I think you're getting too wrapped up in this, it would be best for us both to stay focused on the article. Obscurasky (talk) 13:58, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New dishes[edit]

Here are a couple of candidates for the page. I don't feel like adding them seeing as how people get their knickers in a twist about the contents. (Personally, I like detail—people who don't like it can skip it, but if it's not there you don't know what you're missing.) Anyone else, feel free to add them.

  • The Bacon jam article is an orphan and there's a request for links to it.
  • There's something called caramelized bacon, which is similar to Pig Candy (??!) but lacks pecans. It sounds delicious.

Bacon Martini Photo[edit]

The description says to soak bacon in vodka until the vodka becomes opaque. The picture could not possibly represent a cocktail made with such vodka, as the drink is clear as water, while pictures of Bacon Martinis found by Google Images resemble "dirty" martinis. Shouldn't the picture represent the actual item? --Mfwills (talk) 00:20, 22 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, it should be removed.Obscurasky (talk) 09:55, 22 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
