Numbers[edit]

  • Porsche, I tweaked the table format to eliminate an unnecessary column and an ambiguous column header, after you had previously simplified the table layout to its benefit. The choice of spelled-out ordinal numbers to designate the University of Florida presidents is not an accident: it's the format that the university uses in numbering its presidents, and it's used consistently throughout the sixteen articles about the individual university presidents. I'm still contemplating whether the year spans of the presidential terms would benefit from parentheses or not. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 02:15, 19 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Addressing bias within the page[edit]

To be forthright with my own biases: I am a recent University of Florida graduate. Part of my undergraduate studies included studying the "darker" history of the University. Longtime Wikipedia reader, first time contributing to a talk page, so sorry if I do this "wrong."

The table giving brief biographies appears to be very "pro" each President it discusses. Although list articles should be pretty brief, I find the lack of information regarding the more problematic aspects of the tenures of Reitz and O'Connell in particular to be worrisome; and I will include Marston to be fair but it is much less blatant with his section. Some potential solutions might be to just briefly mention the problematic parts?

Very simplified example: "Reitz's tenure was marked by x, y, and z [good things], but has come under scrutiny for his involvement in the Johns Committee."

Open to constructive feedback on this idea. CandyMagician (talk) 16:20, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
