Misguided but repeated ACCI (and AIIC) edits[edit]

A non-registered user with IP 51.7.26.75 has recently made repeated edits which, although possibly well-intentioned, do not accord with the intent and content of this page. The account has only been used to edit three pages: this article, the similar article List of translators and interpreters associations, and (temporarily) the disambiguation page Acci (which was then reverted as it contained only a redlink).

The edits by 51.7.26.75 referred to ACCI (the 'Association of Certified Interpreters') and its predecessor AQTI (the 'Association of Qualified Translators and Interpreters') - both of which were already included in the article, in the correct chronological sequence - i.e. at 2013/2016. The edits moved ACCI to the top of the list, which is inconsistent with the 'approximate age' order, and the wording ('The fastest growing...', with no independent references) seemed designed to promote ACCI, in conflict with WP:NPOV, while the tone ('It's a global...') is in conflict with WP:TONE - although this latter point could be easily cleared up.

I reverted the 51.7.26.75 edits on 27 June 2017, but they were reinstated on 4-11 July 2017; I have now reverted them once more, in the hope this explanation prevents an WP:EDITWAR.

In addition, edits by a temporarily registered user AIICUK similarly added a reference to AIIC (the 'International Association of Conference Interpreters') at the top of the list, which is inconsistent with the chronological sequence, and also inconsistent with the article structure where the primary focus is on 'associations within the United Kingdom', hence UK bodies are listed first, followed later by international bodies with a significant UK presence (as opposed to international bodies which merely have affiliated organizations within the UK, such as FIT - these are naturally listed at the global List of translators and interpreters associations). AIIC was in any case already listed in the article, at this later position.

Further, an external link was included where none is required, as AIIC has its own (non-redlinked) entry on Wikipedia: the See ... links to external websites are only needed for those bodies without their own entries on Wikipedia. This has not always been applied consistently to every entry in the list, but I have now corrected it.

I reverted the AIICUK edits on 27 June 2017 and at present they remain in this state.
