Deletion[edit]

This page may not be necessary as one of the links in the main article on the bill is a complete episode guide with synopsis. Should this page be deleted?

The episode guide on the official site only covers episodes from 2002 onwards, I think this will be a useful resource for a complete guide to the show.

I have to say I think it ought to be deleted, as wiki is not meant to be pages of lists 80.177.152.156

This should not be deleted - it will serve as a valuable resource about the episodes of The Bill, with a few cleaning-ups it will be very informative. That's what wikipedia's about!

Recent edits[edit]

Recent edits by several anonymous editors should be double-checked for accuracy since at least one of these anons has recently added nonsense to several pages. According to a quick glance at TV.com the episode names added by 210.55.243.50 appear to be legitimate so I did not revert the edits but someone better versed in The Bill should check to make sure 210.55.243.50 hasn't added nonense. 23skidoo 14:12, 21 October 2005 (UTC) Wiki is here for knowledge. No. of series'[edit]

I can't find the reference now, but I'm sure that I read somewhere that because The Bill has been running constantly, without a break since 1987, the show is still technically in it's fourth series. JP Godfrey (Talk to me) 17:28, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It has. However, it does need to be broken up, or it would all be somewhat hard on the eye, and this seems a sensible way to do it.

Names of episodes[edit]

I may be the only one who thinks this but I find it slighlty annoying that the episodes are named, for instance:

  • Episode1.2 (The Bill) (first series, second episode)
  • Episode1.10 (The Bill) (first series, tenth episode)

My mind initially assumes that 1.2 must come after 1.10. I know its not a big deal but could the articles be called, for instance:

  • Episode1.02 (The Bill)
  • Episode1.10 (The Bill)?

It also occurs that my suggestion would mean the episodes sit in lists in proper order. Currently, the lists are in numerical order, that is, 2.10 before 2.9.

Overhaul - November 2006[edit]

I have started improving this article. I am making it more uniform, adding the dates that the episodes were first aired, and any very significant details next to some of them (characters arriving/departing etc).

Burnside[edit]

Should this be included? Is it really necessary? Other spin-offs haven't been included and it doesn't directly relate to the running order of The Bill episodes. If no-one has any objections raised soon I'll remove that section. Thanks. ( Just The Q ) 22:16, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Subpages[edit]

I find it annoying that the page has so many subpages Andrew Marsden 09:58, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Episode notability[edit]

All the existing individual episode pages for The Bill fail notability guidelines, including the notability guidelines for television episodes, and have been tagged accordingly. Might I suggest these articles are improved with real-world information (ie. referencing with reliable sources) to assert notability, removing trivia (seeWP:TRIVIA) quotes, overly long plot summaries (a breach of copyright) or consider merging the information onto the season page. Otherwise, when these pages come up for review in fourteen days, they may be redirected, merged or deleted. If you want any help or info, then come to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Television/Episode coverage. Thanks, Gwinva 20:24, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merge with individual season lists[edit]

At the moment, the majority of the lists of episodes of The Bill by season consist of a recapitulation of the summary from the main list and then a plain-text list of the episode titles. A few list the episodes in a table, but that is all. This article should be able to fit the entire list of all the episodes on it; the complete list would not make the article excessively lengthy. What takes up the bulk of all these articles is the redundant season summary which would only be included once on the main list. There is no reason for the main list to contain only the first three seasons. Neelix (talk) 14:19, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

To be honest i think they should be kept where they are, there fine & ive noticed in the 2010 episodes someone has added a short setentence about the episode, similar to some of the US series' pages. So i say try to expand them a little no need to merge me thinks! Mintyyyy 2010 (talk) 21:01, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have outlined reasons for the merge to take place above, but no reasons have been given not to merge. Unless reasons are given, the merge should take place. Neelix (talk) 21:19, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have re-evaluated the viability of merging the individual season lists here. While this list should cover all episodes in the series, the seasons justify their own pages. Neelix (talk) 21:22, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Split Article[edit]

Split I think that the first table should suffice for this article, and point to each of the 26 seasons, which can each have their own article. Failing at this, there should be 27 tables with the bare minimum.--Jax 0677 (talk) 18:57, 3 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Comment I have deleted the long tables from this article, and it is still over 100 kB. I am thinking that this article should contain the first table only, and point to the other 26 articles.--Jax 0677 (talk) 16:50, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
