Reason For Page[edit]

This page was created to complement the page 'Records of Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom' where it mentions the oldest and youngest prime ministers, the greatest length between terms and the extreme ages at which they first entered parliament. This table provides information regarding all the Prime Ministers and so a comparison can be drawn between them. I have linked to this page from the page mentioned above.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Walli14 (talkcontribs) 13:28, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am extremely wary of this article. The abundance of footnotes implies factual accuracy, but I have found one of the footnotes to be factually inaccurate. The statement that "Alec Douglas-Home retired at the October 1964 election" is blatantly untrue. Far from going into retirement he served as Leader of the Opposition until 1965 and remained in the Commons until 1974 (serving as Foreign Secretary from 1970). In 1974 he returned to the Lords as a Life Peer, which he remained until his death in 1995. To give him a "Date of Final Departure from Parliament" as 10 October 1974 is completely incorrect - he still had a seat in Parliament until his death 21 years later. Are there any more errors lurking in this article? Road Wizard (talk) 14:03, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for pointing out that mistake. This page has taken me considerable time to put together due to the time I have spent dilligently ensuring that the data is as accurate as possible and of course the page is nowhere near finished at the moment. I welcome you to search the article and discover any more errors. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Walli14 (talkcontribs) 20:41, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
