Inappropriate cells[edit]

Metacritic and Gamecritic cells are discouraged in list articles. Scores should only appear in the reception section, per WP:VG. Game trailers need to be replaced with reliable sources also. — TPX 19:27, 4 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Can you point me to where the recommendation is? I've poked around and done some searches and can't find the recommendation. It seems like a poor recommendation, so I'd like to see the rationale. I did not put the trailers in, but from what I've noticed, most of them are "official", from Sony, or from the original publisher/developer. --Jason C.K. (talk) 15:52, 7 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I know it's late, but for future reference, I too support the removal of the MC and trailer links. That's excessive - you'll notice not a single other video game list list by console lists such things. We don't usually even just plop links to trailers in game articles themselves - it starts moving into "promotional" territory at that point. Also, they bloat the article too much, making it harder to both read, and add new entries, into the list. I agree with TPX on this. Sergecross73 msg me 13:45, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Bloat[edit]

I propose simplifying this list article by reducing the number of cells. We can create sub tables for VR-only, VR-supported and VR-experience titles, but each table should provide only basic information (e.g. title, developer, publisher, release dates, etc). — TPX 19:53, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Some of these columns, like "multiplayer" or "artificial motion" are excessive and unnecessary (the later hardly even filled out at all), and are better covered in the individual articles.
Also, If the VR Only/Supported/Experience labels are kept, we should really outline what they mean. I'm not entirely sure what "VR-experience" means, or how its different from "Supported". We're supposed to be writing articles with enough context that any average person could understand without further context - I'm pretty active and knowledgeable in the Video Game WikiProject, and even I don't know what that one means. That's a good point. An example of a VR only game would be RIGS because it was developed specifically for the platform, and is inoperable without it; but TrackMania Turbo received VR support after release and can be played with or without the headset. I always thought VR Experience was a label Sony applied to additional content such as the Rogue One: X-Wing VR Mission that comes free with Star Wars Battlefront, but the editor who applied these tags must be thinking in broader terms. If we are to make distinctions, we should provide a brief description of what they mean. — TPX 20:45, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Okay I will trim this list article in the next few days, if there is no valid objection. — TPX 17:05, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

suggestion[edit]

Should I suggest adding Voltron VR Chronicles? I saw it on the PlayStation Store some time ago. Visokor (talk) 08:50, 20 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

merge the two tables?[edit]

shouldnt the free-to-play table be integrated into the main table with an additional column “free to play”: yes/no? this way, readers wouldnt have to look through both tables (eg if they sort it in some way). Martin Kraus (talk) 12:29, 29 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's fairly common for free-to-play games to have their own table. See List of Xbox One games and List of PlayStation 4 free-to-play games for example. — Niche-gamer 10:37, 30 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
In my world, we-do-it-this-way-because-everyone-is-doing-it-this-way is not a valid reason. Martin Kraus (talk) 09:43, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Conversely, you have not proposed a persuasive reason to merge everything into a single table. The distinction with F2P titles is they do not require payment or PS Plus membership in order to play. If anything, this page requires a third table for applications and/or short VR experiences as apps should not be listed alongside free-to-play games. — Niche-gamer 09:55, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Why is there a symbol for HOTAS controllers[edit]

Unlike the Move and Aim controllers there are no "official" HOTAS controllers for PS4. Furthermore, the only released game with this symbol on the table doesn't even make any special mention of HOTAS controllers. This would be like marking all racing games with a "Racing wheel optional" symbol. It just seems like bloat to me. Dude22072 (talk) 04:08, 13 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

PS5 Support and/or PS5 only column[edit]

Is there any value in starting to add information on backwards compatible (PS4 on PS5) games? Or noting the games that are PS5 only? My fear is the table is already so big... Maybe PSVR PS5 should be it's own page? 2601:442:4680:4D10:6964:BF5C:145B:C200 (talk) 23:57, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If the vast majority of games are compatible with PS5 (99%) I don't think another column is necessary. On the second point, have any PS5-only VR games been announced yet? — Niche-gamer 11:50, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, one; LOW-FI 2600:1014:B011:11C0:8CD0:5825:5DBB:BEFD (talk) 05:45, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

PSVR 2[edit]

Should PSVR 2 games be added here or a separate list created? Mika1h (talk) 20:38, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
