Reason for deletion[edit]

This is an encyclopedia, not a directory service. This non-encyclopedic list, full of nonsense about "murderous Mus" and the like, has no place here, especially since it does not have any reliable sources, nor even a hint of an assertion of a reason why such a list would be notable enough for an encyclopedia. I have nothing against the Qs: their Milwaukee house (NOT in this "article", I might add) is a few blocks from my house, and I went to Tennessee State University, where they were a power indeed; but our standards must be upheld. --Orange Mike | Talk 19:19, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I was just starting to clean this up, and I was beginning to add citations for each chapter after I reordered them alphabetically. Nicknames aside, it would have been a useful list. It's a shame that you deleted most of the information while it was still a work in progress, especially since the bottom portion included graduate chapter information that wasn't in the spreadsheet section on top. Now it's gone, unless someone has the energy to start from scratch. --Sky Fortress Bahamut

I restored the last version before the deletion; but please see WP:USEFUL and WP:SPS, as well as WP:ILIKEIT. --Orange Mike | Talk 19:48, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The question becomes, in general, what information on Greek Letter Organization chapters should be available on Wikipedia. At one end is a list that simply looks like

...

and this is close to the other end of the scale.Naraht (talk) 19:51, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"Notorious Nu"[edit]

I've seen nicknames like this on the chapter pages for most of the NPHC but I know that on the List of Delta Sigma Theta chapters page it has been cleaned up. I did find "Notorious Nu" at a secondary source (Official NPHC pages at Penn State) but, I just don't think it is encyclopedic.Naraht (talk) 19:45, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ordering of chapters[edit]

Does anyone have any idea what the ordering is in this list? It doesn't look like chartering order, it isn't in proper greek order (Α-Ω,ᾼᾼ,ΑΒ,...ΩΨ,ΩΩ, etc).Naraht (talk) 14:25, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup[edit]

I removed all of the notes that I thought were unencyclopedic.Naraht (talk) 15:57, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Chapter Types[edit]

I've decided to include chapter types in the parameter to distinguish between undergraduate and graduate chapters. Unlike other Black Greek Letter Organizations (BGLO)s Omega's graduate chapters also have random Greek letters assigned with no pattern: Alphas have alumni chapters end with "Lambda" where Sigmas have graduate chapters end with "Sigma" and Kappas do not assign Greek letters to their alumni chapters. I also made the mistake of relabeling graduate chapters to alumni chpaters when the organization does not refer to them as such. I will rectify this. On second hand to keep it simplier I will just label in the notes that the chpater is graduate. Banan14kab (talk) 00:11, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
