Finn Kydland[edit]

Kydland was National Fellow at the Hoover Institution from 1982-83. His fellowship was an award or honor. He should be removed from the main count. Ber31 (talk) 14:35, 28 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

He classified it under "position" [1], and if you look at other entries in the page, they are not awards or honors but actual positions. So it's not a good idea to remove him from the main list. --Minimumbias (talk) 21:34, 28 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hoover Institute is more of a think tank rather than an academic institution. Although I don't object to the inclusion of long-term fellows of the institute, I have skepticism concerning the inclusion of short-term fellows (those who were affiliated for a year or less). It is a think tank indeed. But it is a think tank of Stanford University, and Kydland did classify it under "Positions". So I believe it's better if we stick to the counting policies strictly, otherwise people would argue that the lists are biased. For example, you removed Ronald Coase because he did not classify it under "university", and I agree because I think we should respect the policies.
