Dubious inclusion of various flags[edit]

I'm removing the subsection entitled "Under Moroccan rule" because it's out of place here. The only dynasty there that's really relevant are the Almoravids, and there is no Almoravid flag design that is verifiable in reliable sources; the image in place here, along with several other flag images for other North African dynasties, have been removed from their respective main articles because they're partly or entirely WP:OR (some of the discussion on that issue can be found at Talk:Marinid Sultanate#Flags). Since there is no flag to include that is both relevant and verifiable, the entire section should go.

Although the "Moroccan" flags are what I'm most familiar with, it seems like many other inclusions here are also of questionable relevance. I'm not versed in Mauritanian history, but some of these European powers appear to have merely had outposts along the coast (like the Portuguese and the Dutch, and also the Spanish according to Precolonial Mauritania). That doesn't seem enough to justify presenting these as "Mauritanian" flags. And from a quick search, I can find no reference to what role the Germans/Prussians had in Mauritania, if any. Either way, there are no sources and no context provided to explain these inclusions. If these truly deserve inclusion, please provide more context and sources.
